We were planning to go up the moose meadows trail but chanceg plans on the way up and headed for Coyote Meadows trail and into Hidden Lake. We had a good time as usual and our food was better planned than last time. Sign of bears were ever present but we never saw one. The rain in the night and the morning soon broke and we hiked out in sunshine. It was a nice gentle hike and we all enjoyed it.

Trip to Bear Creek
The class went on a trip up Bear Creek in the Palasades. It was about 1.5 miles. Everyone did really well during the hike. There were a few river crossings and grassy meadows. The scenery was really outstanding. Everyone had a really good time. We set up camp at a horse camp where Current Creek and Bear Creek meet. We learned new skills while using the ORC equipment and how to leave no trace while in the back country. We are all looking forward to our next trip.

Rabbit Stick
We took a trip out to Rabbit Stick for class, where an instructor taught us a couple of ways to make fire using only sticks (bow and hand drill methods). I think we were all very impressed with the skill that it takes. Some of us tried and quickly learned that it's not as easy as it looks. There were other displays and classes going on as well. We all enjoyed our time there.
